Practice that marks its own work.

Short, mixed practice in math and language arts, on ruled paper. A wrong answer comes back with its working, and a common slip with the reason it happened, written in the margin.

23,642
questions across 943 skills, in 50 areas
106,190
wrong answers, each with a reason
908
walkthroughs, offered when a miss needs one

Every skill aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

The miss

A wrong answer is the only part worth stopping for.

Most practice says wrong and serves the next one. smrtr writes in the margin instead: which wrong turn that particular answer came from, the short way to think about it, and the whole working underneath.

Every wrong answer carries its reason.

A question does not just carry a right answer. It carries each plausible wrong one and a sentence saying where that thinking goes off. Pick the answer somebody who halved instead of doubling would pick, and that is the sentence you get back.

106,190 distractors, each with a written reason

Skills are mixed.

A session rotates through whatever is in the deck rather than grinding one skill until a bar fills. Ratios, then a pronoun, then area. That is harder in the moment and it is the point: a test does not come in blocks either.

A deck can mix both subjects and any skills in the grade

Nothing keeps score.

There is no points total, no streak, no accuracy percentage and no badge anywhere in the app, by design. What it keeps is each answer, whether it was right, and when, which is how you find your place.

The years

The paper stays. The work grows up.

One account covers every year a child is in it. The sheet does not change; what gets written on it does. Pick a year.

The library

Seven ways to answer.

A question is not always four choices. Some ask for a number, some for a word out of a sentence, some for an order, some for things sorted into groups. Each one is graded on the paper it was asked on.

  • Pick one
  • Write the number

Aligned to the standards, at the skill.

Every grade-level skill carries its North Carolina Standard Course of Study code.

A walkthrough on the miss that needs one.

Every math skill has a lesson, and a miss offers it, and only then. It is a worked board with narration, not a video wall to browse.

For parents

One account. One bill. No dashboard to read.

A parent signs in and picks who is practicing. That is the whole ceremony. There is nothing to configure before a child can start, and nothing to interpret afterward.

  • The family

One email and one password make a household. Each learner is a name and a grade inside it, with no login of their own and nothing for a child to forget.

  • The bill

$5 a month, or $50 a year, for the whole household. Adding a child costs nothing more. The card is entered on Stripe's own pages, and the card number stays with Stripe.

  • The trial

Seven days free, then it renews. Cancelling takes two clicks and no email, and the renewal date and the amount are both on the page before the card is taken.

  • If it lapses

New questions pause. Nothing is deleted. Every deck, every answer and every explanation stays open to read back, and the screen a child sees says nothing about money.

  • What we keep

The answers, so the explanations and the read-back work. No advertising, no analytics cookies, and no learner information sold or shared.

The beta is small on purpose: a few families at a time, so the questions get read and the reasons get fixed. Leave an email and you get one message when a place opens.
